Education & Training

Yolanda Owens, SPHR, is an experienced HR professional and certified Mediator with extensive experience in employee relations. Most recently, Yolanda was a member of the Corporate Functions HR leadership team at Salesforce as an Employee Success Business Partner, Director.  She has held executive-level Human Resources roles where she is charged with building organizational capability through the deployment and integration of organization design and talent management best practices. As the lead consultant for Yolanda Owens Consulting, End to End HR Solutions, Yolanda provides a practical approach to human resources, focusing on Employee Relations, Investigation, and Mediation services while delivering on strategic business goals.

A native Texan, Yolanda earned her BBA with an emphasis in Personnel and Industrial Relations from the University of North Texas (1991) and her MBA with a focus on Human Resource Management from Amberton University (1996).  

 

Yolanda has made it a priority to contribute to the world by embracing the community through mentorship and volunteerism.  She is an associate member of the Austin Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., a member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a former troop leader of the Girl Scouts of Central Texas, and a charter member of the Lone Star (TX) Chapter of Links, Incorporated.

 

Yolanda is most proud of her family: husband Mike, son Captain Michael Owens, Jr. (USMC), and daughter Kamryn, a student at Loyola University, New Orleans. She is inspired to live an intentional and balanced life. Because of her desire to break the generational cycle of heart disease in her family, Yolanda lives an active lifestyle focused on self-care activities and active running through participation with GirlTrek and Black Girls Run. 

 

Yolanda lives by the words and wisdom of Maya Angelou, which guides her daily journey. “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” and “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
