Marvelia Barrera

Marvelia Barrera is a passionate educational leader committed to helping students discover their strengths and prepare for bright futures. With more than 20 years of experience, she has served as a Principal, Senior Executive Director, and Instructional Leadership Coach, supporting schools in creating meaningful learning opportunities for all students.

Marvelia has worked closely with nonprofits and community partners to expand access to educational programs and strengthen family engagement. She has also led College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) pathways and industry certification programs for secondary students, ensuring they gain real-world skills and clear steps toward postsecondary success.

Her expertise includes instructional coaching, curriculum design, and the creation of inclusive, student-centered learning environments. Marvelia is known for guiding educators through data-driven practices and supportive leadership that elevates both teaching and learning.

A champion for equity and culturally responsive education, she believes in the power of community, collaboration, and opportunity. Marvelia holds advanced degrees in Education Administration and Science Education from The University of Texas at Austin.

She is dedicated to empowering students, families, and school leaders, and to helping young people take confident steps toward their future pathways.
